Final Cut Comparison #1

One of the films my genre I chose to compare was the opening sequence from the movie "Flat Liners" because of the plot having similarities to ours but also having a different approach. Flat liners starts out with an intense but controlled environment that rapidly get's out of hand but also uses parallel editing to show the other side of what is happening. This is very similar to ours because we use parallel editing to help show the moment getting increasingly more intense where it eventually gets out of hand. However their scene has a much more clear plotline with different camera angles to help show what's going on, they also include special affects which our film lacks. However we also used a prop to help implement the title, the flatline being showed in theirs and the phone call in ours which helps to give the audience an idea of what may be going on throughout the rest of the film. Overall the quality is much higher with cleaner cuts and transitions, however we share similar ideas and ways of outlining the rest of the story.
