Media Reflection #2

My previous experience's of the skills I've learned in this class is little to none other than pictures or videos I had  taken for my friends or family in a friendly setting with no real meaning or purpose behind it. However even though these picture never really had a meaning for them it helped me figure out a few simple angles and what sort of lighting that makes people either look good or bad, while this does not give me a sort of understanding for film making it helped put the idea in my head of how things all come into place. After my time in this class however my skills and experience of each individual aspect have greatly developed and I feel more confident in my ability to take a shot or video that will better portray the emotion and feeling of the shot. At first my skills lacked any real form or meaning for instance when it came to using a camera I often times held my phone vertically which eliminated some crucial space and makes the shots seem unprofessional and unnatural. On top of this, my skills when it came to setting up a scene and editing prior to the course I  lacked especially due to my lack of experience, I barely knew how to alter the lighting and was unaware of how space and elements played a role in the composition of shots. However compared to my skills after taking this class my shots and videos have greatly improved because I can confidently use on screen and off screen space and other factors to really pull the shot all together. Overall I feel like my skills have greatly improved from before I started this course compared to where I am now but I do not believe that I will be able to create an adequate opening sequence for many factors. A lot of these factors add up to experience however I feel with a little more time and practicing the skills I have learned I will be able to properly create an opening sequence.
