Photography Project
Photo prompt: You are the school bully. Everyone on campus fears you; you are a menace and a terror.
In a few sentences, describe what you will photograph to respond to your photo prompt. (Note: Your photograph should have a human subject.) Also briefly discuss the overall look/feel/mood you are attempting.
We will take a photograph which portrays one of our group members as the bully, with the other members cowering in fear on the ground. We are attempting to give the photo a sense of intimidation, with the bully towering over the other students, and a sense of fear coming from the perspective of those being bullied.
2. Create a hand drawn version of your intended photograph. This must be shown to Reynolds by either Monday or Tuesday next week (9/30 or 10/1). Your photo should not be taken before your rough sketch is made.
3. With your intentions in mind, describe each of the following for your photograph:
Design
Lighting: Dark Shadows around most of the setting to emphasize the feeling of terror, as well as low lighting on the characters faces/bodies
Setting: School walkway because it portrays the classic bully trope within school
Costumes, hairstyles, makeup: Casual, teenager clothing as well as natural hair and no make up to convey the natural look of being in school
Props and decor: Lockers, school posters helps capture setting
Composition
Depth of composition (flat or deep): Flat
Point of view: POV of the bully looking down at his victims, the photo will be taken from the bully’s perspective
Implied distance from the subject (close-up, medium shot, long shot): Close to medium shot to show the emotions of terror on the faces of the people being bullied
Offscreen space: Limited off screen space to capture the shot in the best way possible,
